DEADRA WOODS STOKES - PRINCIPAL

Attorney Stokes was born in Chicago, Illinois. She was admitted to the Illinois, Northern District of Illinois, and Northern District of Illinois-Federal Trial Bar Court of Appeals-Seventh Circuit in 1996, prior to marriage, as Deadra F. Woods. She graduated from Xavier University of Louisiana, May 1988 with a B.S. in Chemistry and Chicago-Kent College of Law, Illinois Institute of Technology with a J.D. and an Environmental Law Certification, June 1994. From 1990 to 1992 Attorney Stokes served as an Industrial Hygienist with the US Department of Labor/Occupational Safety & Health in the Chicago Metropolitan Area. Beginning 1992 to 1995 she acquired experience as an environmental land specialist with the Chicago Bridge & Iron Company and an Environmental Regulatory Specialist with Veliscol Chemical Corporation. Attorney Stokes entered the private practice of law in 1995 and in 1998 became a founding partner in the law firm of Holt & Woods, Ltd. which transformed in 2002 to Holt, Woods & Evans, Ltd., which further transformed in 2005 to Woods & Evans, L.L.C. Attorney Stokes concentrates in the areas of real estate, estate planning and business formation.

Attorney Stokes has held the position as the Hearing Officer for the Building Code Division for the Village of Robbins, Illinois since 2002.  She is currently the Financial Secretary of the Chicago South Suburban Chapter of Jack and Jill and has served as past Treasurer of the Legal Counseling Ministry at Trinity United Church of Christ and for the Cook County Bar Association.   She frequently appears as a guest on the talk radio WVON (1690 AM) to provide legal consultation regarding real estate and estate planning to the community at large. Attorney Stokes frequently participates on panels and provides seminars to discuss real estate related matters and estate planning issues in venues including but not limited to Malcolm X College, Harold Washington Center, and Lincoln Mall South Suburban Expo. She has also accepted the call from various real estate brokerages to provide seminars on the art of closing a short sale.   

CATHE R. EVANS WILLIAMS- PRINCIPAL

Attorney Evans Williams was born in Joliet, Illinois. After graduating from DePaul University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management, she earned a J.D. degree from the University of Illinois College of Law. She was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1996, prior to marriage, as Cathe R. Evans and to the General Bar of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois in 2005. During 1990 to 1992, she served as an operations supervisor and manager with The Northern Trust Company.  Attorney Evans Williams entered the private practice of law in Chicago, Illinois in 1996 and joined Holt & Woods, Ltd. in 2001, which transformed in 2002 to Holt, Woods & Evans, Ltd., which further transformed in 2005 to Woods & Evans, L.L.C.  Attorney Evans Williams concentrates in the areas of real estate, alternative dispute resolution, and family law.

Attorney Evans Williams is a licensed real estate broker, a certified family mediator, a member of the South Suburban Bar Association, and a past member of the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission and Cook County Bar Association. She is also a founding member and President of Covenant United Church of Christ Legal Counseling Ministry where she, along with her board members, plan and provide quarterly legal seminars to the congregation. In 2006, Attorney Evans Williams had the pleasure of being a guest speaker to students at various Junior High Schools in the Chicago land areas.  She also accepted the honor to be the keynote speaker for the 2006 NAACP Youth Scholarship Awards in Joliet, Illinois and appeared as a guest on the Kingdom Vision television talk show to discuss the challenges of practicing divorce law while promoting family integrity in Oak Forest, Illinois.
